It is suggested that the spectrum of solar cosmic rays in the source is
formed under the effect of a combination of acceleration mechanisms,
producing a variable spectrum shape in different energy ranges. It is
shown that the total solar-cosmic-ray energy can be estimated by taking
into account the variable spectrum shape.
