Drift motion associated with axis-crossing ions in the neutral sheet are examined. It is shown that both orbital drift and diamagnetic drift can reach the order of the thermal velocity. The axis-crossing ion diamagnetic drift velocity and the orbital drift resonance can drive an electrostatic instability. For nonadiabatic ion diamagnetic drift instability, it is found that the associated resistivity reaches the order of 10 to the 4th m-ohm.
