The authors present a study of higher dimensional Gödel-type cosmologies in the following cases: (1) with a perfect fluid and (2) with cosmic strings. In the latter case they show that the string tension density may be a constant or a variable if the number of dimensions is four but it is only a constant if the number of dimensions is larger than four.
