Various X-ray binary source models imply the presence of hot, moderately relativistic protons near the accreting, compact object. The interaction of these protons with themselves and their surroundings will lead to the production of pions and eventually gamma-rays. Motivated by the upcoming GLAST mission, we re-examine and update the predictions for this gamma-ray emission and study the constraints that can be placed on X-ray binary accretion disk and coronal models by the detection (or non-detection) of the emission.
