The electric field of a body situated in the solar-wind plasma and irradiated by solar electromagnetic radiation is investigated; calculations are presented for the Martian satellite Phobos. It is shown that the body acquires a positive charge under such conditions; the transient-process time is calculated. The system of one-dimensional Vlasov-Poisson equations for the electric field is solved numerically using a model photoelectron distribution function, enabling the determination of possible coordinate dependences of potential and electron density.
