The effect of line-profile distortion during eclipses of binaries and its consequences for radial-velocity curves has been known for nearly a century. However, usually a detailed model of line-profile changes is not taken into account in spectroscopic analyses of presently available high S/N data. A possibility to improve the method of disentangling the spectra in this respect is discussed in this contribution.
