The STEREO mission, launched in October 2006 comprises two spacecraft drifting at opposite directions from Earth. STEREO carries a suite of solar telescopes to provide, for the first time, stereoscopic views CMEs and of the corona including the cool, upper chromospheric line of He II at 304 Å. In my talk, I give an overview of the mission and its science objectives and discuss the areas where STEREO can provide important contributions to chromospheric science questions.
