Long-slit spectroscopic observations of T Tau stars obtained at high spatial and medium spectral resolution are presented. The detailed spatio-kinematic structure of the observed forbidden line features close to the stellar position has been deduced after careful elimination of the contribution from the stellar continuum. The method permits to search for displacements of 50 AU or less of the centroids of the line emission with respect to the stellar positions. Moreover, properties of collimated mass outflows can be studied as close as 100 AU to the central star.
