Herbig-Haro Objects: Infrared Radiation, Herbig-Haro Objects: Molecular Hydrogen, Herbig-Haro Objects: Bipolar Outflows

Scientific paper

Arcsecond-resolution images of shocked molecular hydrogen emission at wavelengths near 2 μm reveal the detailed structure of the cooling gas behind radiative shock waves produced by the interaction of energetic jets and outflows from young stars with ambient molecular gas. This paper reviews recent progress in the application of IR array cameras to the study of Herbig-Haro objects and molecular outflows, illustrated with some of the most recent examples of this technique.
