In this paper, a new technique to reduce speckle noise from interference
patterns is proposed. This method, called cross absolute filter (CAF) is
well suited to the case of noisy interferograms with phase error pixels.
It is demonstrated that CAF performs better than classical median-type
filters, preserving more subtle details.
