Within the framework of the gauge approach to gravitation, including
terms in the lagrangian quadratic in the curvature and torsion tensors,
a generalised Friedman equation for a homogeneous isotropic cosmology is
obtained. This equation avoids the gravitational singularity with
infinite mass density.
