It is shown that measurements of scintillation drift velocities in the interplanetary medium can be used to predict geomagnetic activity; interplanetary scintillation is an index of magnetic disturbances due to arrive at the earth. The method is based on the determination of the velocity distribution of interplanetary inhomogeneities on the line of sight.
