The effect of the three-dimensional irregularity of the ionosphere on the motion of neutral particles is examined on the basis of analytical expressions for ion velocity in the framework of the single-ion approximation in the F-region. The noncoincidence of geographic and geomagnetic poles is taken into account. It is shown that the three-dimensional irregularity has definite effect on the velocity of the neutral wind, especially during morning and evening hours. This effect is most pronounced in the region of the main ionospheric trough.
