The sodium content in the atmospheres of eight K giants has been determined using spectrograms. Synthetic spectra were calculated in the LTE approximation and the influence of 227 molecules on the partial pressures of atoms and ions was taken into account. The synthetic and observed spectra were compared by convoluting the synthetic spectra with Gaussian profiles. The characteristics of the investigated stars are summarized, the parameters and the Fe and Na content in their atmospheres are given. A comparison of the observed and synthetic spectrum of Arcturus is made.
