Review papers on the sun, the interplanetary medium, and the magnetosphere are presented, with special emphasis on charged particles, waves, and storms. Some of the topics discussed are neutral sheets, chromospheric flares vs chromospheric aurorae, auroral and solar flares, large-scale and solar cycle variations of the solar wind, recent developments in interplanetary shock wave theory, a study of magnetospheric dynamics using energetic solar particles, and wave-particle interactions and their relevance to substorms. Individual items are announced in this issue.
