It is shown that the formation and development of extensive air showers with a primary energy above 10 to the 14th power eV must be studied with allowance for a new process of multiple production in events of inelastic collisions of hadrons with energies above 4 x 10 to the 13th power eV. Allowance for the influence of the new multiple production process on extensive air shower development will influence the calculations of the energy spectrum of primary cosmic particles.
