Short term galactic cosmic ray intensity variation phenomena in the 1 GeV-1000 GeV range are examined, and the cosmic ray modulations due to solar-generated effects propagating in the interplanetary medium are emphasized. The long term variability of both isotropic and anisotropic cosmic ray intensity variations are discussed, with a view to differentiating between the 11- and 22-year periodicities.
