The paper discusses the diffraction of starlight at the lunar limb, and indirect measurement of stellar diameters. Photoelectric observations of occultations may be used for the resolution of very close double stars, and for accurate angular-diameter measurements of stars, making it possible to deduce the surface temperature, if the star's magnitude in terms of total energy emitted at all wavelengths may be determined. A method to calculate the angular diameters of stars via photometry in the yellow and red passband indexes is suggested.
