The paper presents medium resolution H alpha line profiles of two T Tauri stars - DL Tau (K 7 eV) and AA Tau (K 5 eV). Both stars reveal a central absorption, which is particularly clear and intense in the case of DL Tau, and in good agreement with the chromospheric hypothesis of Dumont et al., (1973). The technique used enables one to detect rapid time-variations of the line profile.
