An analysis is presented of the influence of atmospheric-density fluctuations on the accuracy of determination of the revolution period and orbital position of an earth satellite. An optimal strategy of orbit calculation is chosen which reduces to a minimum the influence of unpredictable density fluctuations on the accuracy of determination of the foregoing parameters. Minima of the guaranteed maxima (corresponding to this strategy) in the errors involved in the determination of these parameters are obtained for various orbital altitudes and medium levels of solar activity.
