The structure of the magnetosphere as a function of dipole tilt was studied by using a global magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) model. The author shows that the cusp current sheet in the MHD model is related to the tail current sheet and that the calculated shape and positions of the tail current sheet are consistent with observations. In addition, he discusses the difference between the MHD model and the Chapman-Ferraro type model which manifests as a function of tilt angle.
