Scientific paper

Scientific motivations for ultra- and extremely high energy neutrino
astronomy are considered. Sources and expected fluxes of EHE/UHE neutrinos are
briefly discussed. Operating and planned experiments on astrophysical neutrino
detection are reviewed focusing on deep underwater/ice Cherenkov neutrino
telescopes.
