We show that the higher-dimensional vanishing scalar invariant (VSI)
spacetimes with fluxes and dilaton are solutions of type IIB supergravity, and
we argue that they are exact solutions in string theory. We also discuss the
supersymmetry properties of VSI spacetimes.
