Chapman's Auroral Geometry (chapman, 1952) is generalized for an
arbitrary angle of incidence of a radio wave on a geomagnetic field
line. A method for dealing with refraction is described; in this case
the results are illustrated by describing the echo surfaces for a
transmitter located at Brisbane.
