During the last decades, a number of studies has shown that turbulent processes in the plasma sheet contribute significantly to the plasma and energy transport. Turbulent processes are also very important for our understanding of mechanisms leading to the stochastization and unmagnetization of the particle motion. Data from the THEMIS satellites being in tailward alignment inside the plasma sheet were used to study the impact of the electric field fluctuations on the electron motion for different electron energies. It was found that the power spectra of electron fluxes for a fixed electron energy are similar to the electric field power spectra for the electrons with energies of the order of 1-10 keV. We assume that interaction between electrons and fluctuating electric fields is responsible for the electron stochastization and unmagnetization and contributes significantly into the relaxation of non-Maxwellian distribution functions.
