The Local Bubble (LB) is a large, very low density cavity in the local interstellar medium (ISM) created by multiple supernova explosions and as such is an example of a common phenomenon in disk galaxies. A wide range of physical processes are at work in the LB involving the interaction of the gas filling the bubble (both hot and warm/cool) and the magnetic field and interstellar radiation field. We will discuss what can be learned about the LB from the data on nearby clouds and the bubble boundary and the physical processes that may be at work including photoionization, thermal conduction, turbulent mixing and radiative cooling. The physics of the LB has broad implications for the energetics of the ISM of galaxies.
