Mass loading of Saturn's inner magnetosphere drives flux tube interchange, in which hot, tenuous plasma moves radially inward while cold, dense plasma moves radially outward. A specific feature associated with the inward motion of hot plasma, also known as injections, is a separation of charges due to gradient/curvature drift. Injections are characterized by specific plasma and field properties that permit classification into two categories: off-equatorial injections contain increases in electron pressure (relative to the surrounding plasma), electron temperatures below 100 eV, and decreased magnetic field strength; near-equatorial injections contain reduced electron pressure, electron temperatures above 100 eV, and enhanced magnetic field strength. Understanding these injection properties yields insight into the mechanisms driving global plasma convection in Saturn's inner magnetosphere, which includes the transfer of energy and mass. This study addresses the categorization of off-equatorial and near-equatorial injections by identifying injection events automatically to compile a database of injection properties. The methodology employs a Levenberg-Marquardt based algorithm to derive electron moments from the Cassini CAPS/ELS instrument with which the database will be populated.
