The characteristics of extensive air showers in the 10 to the 17th to 10 to the 21st eV energy range are calculated on the basis of the quark-gluon string model, with consistent allowance for neutral-pion interactions and the Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal effect. The inelastic interaction cross section is evaluated, and longitudinal cascade curves are presented.
