Previously obtained cross-sections for the excitation of atomic hydrogen by low energy electron impact from the n = 1 and n = 2 states (Giovanardi et al., 1987) have been revised and extended to the case of low temperatures. Numerical estimates of the transition rates between 5000 and 500,000 K are presented. Estimates of the accuracy of the method of Giovanardi et al. (1987) are considered, along with the corrections needed in the 2000-5000-K range.
