Future cosmic ray experiments under investigation at the European Space Agency are presented after a brief review of cosmic rays and apposite astrophysical problems and experiments. The superconducting magnet facility on the forthcoming Spacelab on the NASA shuttle is descibed along with the characteristics and requirements of the two envisaged experiments: measurement of the isotopic composition in the 1 to 20 GeV/nucleon range for charges 1 to 30 and measurement of the electron and positron spectra up to 1000 GeV.
