There are several types of hydroxyl airglow characterized by different
relative fluctuations of the intensity and rotational temperature as
well as by unequal lags of the fluctuations in intensity with respect to
rotational-temperature variations. On this basis, suppositions are made
on the nature of hydroxyl airglow.
