The emission of acoustic gravity wave is discussed for horizontally and uniformly moving sources in an unbounded isothermal atmosphere. For a point and a finite line source the dispersion characteristics are fully considered. It is found that the radiation field for a finite line source is identical to that for an infinite line source for a certain initial period after the disturbance arrives at an observer. But, later, the end effect is observed complicating the field. Still later, with the source receding far from the observer the field of a finite line source tends to be that of a point source. Generally, because of peculiar dispersion, unlike the acoustic wave the gravity wave can be radiated both for supersonic and subsonic motions. In the asymptotic case the frequency characteristics are fairly similar in all cases. The present numerical integration shows that the saddle point and stationary phase methods are fairly valid except for the very near field.
