The total (integral) cross sections of the reactions 16O(p, α), 20Ne(p, α) and 24Mg(p, α) have been measured by the activation method. The energy range of astrophysical interest was chosen from threshold up to 3-5 MeV above. Reaction rates between T9 = 1 and 5.5 have been deduced. Existing Hauser-Feshbach calculations could be confirmed well. The influence on stellar silicon burning models is discussed.
