The cosmology of three-generation Calabi-Yau (CY) superstring models is discussed. A model independent lower bound ~ 1014 GeV on the largest intermediate scale in models with SU(3)3 gauge group is derived by requiring that the magnetic monopole flux in the Galaxy does not exceed the Parker bound. Using this bound we argue that the baryon asymmetry in three-generation CY models should necessarily be created at temperatures of ~ 1 GeV at most. A late baryogenesis scenario is presented in the context of a model with naturally suppressed proton decay which is generalizable to others with Z3 matter parity and low U(1)B-L breaking scale.
