The thermal budget of porous objects composed of different icy species is investigated, using the energy equation of multicomponent systems to derive a relation which determines the temperature evolution of multicomponent porous ices. The results are applied to porous water ice, porous H2O-CO2 ice, and porous H2O-CO ice. It is shown that, in all cases, the major part of the deposited energy per unit volume is consumed for heating of the ice. The gas phase of the most volatile species significantly contributes to the effective thermal conductivity, which depends both on temperature and on structural parameters.
