The stability of strange quark matter in the presence of a strong magnetic field is investigated using a dynamical, density dependent, quark mass approach to confinement. Changes in both the single particle and bulk energies of a system which are due to the strong magnetic field are also calculated. It is shown that the presence of a magnetic field makes strange quark matter energetically more stable.
