The new 2 deg 11 arcmin objective prism on the UK 1.2-m Schmidt telescope has been used to obtain plates of the Magellanic Clouds. The spectra of most of the known planetary nebulae in the Clouds have been studied. Excitation classes of 134 nebulae and estimates of the emission-line ratio forbidden O II/H-beta in 110 nebulae are presented. The data show significant differences between the excitation classes and O II forbidden line strengths of the planetary nebulae in the two Clouds.
