It is suggested that the periods of solar pulsation, solar rotation, and sunspot cycle may be closely related. The pulsations may act as a pump and generate magnetic fields from some seed field. In view of the relation between the magnetic field and the rotation of the sun, it is supposed that the generation of the magnetic field is also related to the rotation, as indicated by the occurrence of the butterfly diagram.
