Certain physics textbooks convey a false impression that the stellar
aberration angle depends on the relative velocity of the light source
and observer. Counterfactual consequences are deduced from such an
assumption and a more acceptable alternative, consistent with the
relativity principle and with some other textbooks, is discussed.
