Discrepancies noted in results on solar neutrinos obtained with the Davis 380 kl C2Cl4-filled underground tank and predictions based on the transformation from Cl-37 to Ar-37 are discussed. The multiplicity of hypotheses put forth to account for the discrepancies and their implications with respect to stellar evolution are considered briefly. The use of suitable nuclides other than Cl-37 as detectors of solar neutrinos is proposed. Gallium-71 is proposed specifically.
