A long-term variation of the V magnitude at mean opposition of Io and
Titan is shown to be correlated with the orbital motion of Jupiter and
Saturn respectively. The amplitude of the variation is about 0.2 m for
both satellites. The maximum of brightness occurs near the perihelion of
the respective planet.
