The generation of 'time-averaged' light is summarized, and some of its applications are discussed. The use of optical phase conjugation in adaptive optics, lenseless imaging, phase-conjugate resonators, image processing, associative memory, frequency effects, and time-domain applications is addressed. Diagrams showing how each of these applications is achieved are presented.
