For the case of a plane layered ionosphere, the natural frequencies and attenuation decrements of the Alfven resonator are calculated for varying inclination angles of the geomagnetic field. The height structure of the natural frequencies of the resonator is investigated. It is shown that nocturnal conditions are particularly favorable for the existence of the resonator.
