Although the opportunities to observe such objects occur only at long intervals, the present study illustrates how intensive lightcurve coverage with either a word-wide campaign or an individual apparition can lead to the determination of basic parameters for earth-approaching asteroids in a matter of months. Rotational poles, triaxial ellipsoid shapes, absolute magnitudes, and the phase functions of the two Amor asteroids 1580 Betulia and 3908 have been calculated on the basis of lightcurves obtained, respectively, in a world-wide campaign and in a single apparition. These results allow the planning of efficient flyby missions.
