The dependence of the characteristics of the striction self-defocusing of high-power radio waves on ionospheric conditions is investigated experimentally. Changes in the statistical characteristics of the striction effect in the presence of weak F-scattering and in the case of a linear scale of 30 km in the wave reflection region are identified. It is suggested that losses associated with group propagation of plasma waves from the interaction region play a substantial role in the development of the striction parametric instability in the F2-layer.
