The most significant acceleration of the solar wind (SW) and the
mixed-flow regime arise in the transition region of the SW. The
mixed-flow concept is based on data concerning the jet structure of the
flow in the interplanetary medium. An analysis is made of
interplanetary-plasma anomalies identified with the transition region.
