The interpretation of long term radon measurements in a spring located in Vogtland shows a significant relationship to the seismicity of a region close to the sampling point. A statistical check was performed in order to identify the anomaly -- generating area. The cause for this relation is emission of mantle originated gases (including CO2) influenced by tectonic processes in the crust.
