Observations of the international X-ray observatory "Roentgen" on the "Kvant" module in August 1987 revealed the significant decrease of the Hercules X-1 pulsation period. Further observations in 1988 allow to estimate the average period derivative P/P = (-4.9±1.5)×106year-1. Comparison of the "Kvant" data with previous observations has shown that in 1984 - 1988 Hercules X-1 underwent quasistationary acceleration like that one observed in 1972 - 1978.
