Some recent investigations of thermosphere dynamics, carried out in the U.S.S.R., are reviewed briefly. The global empirical models of thermospheric motions are obtained on the basis of ground-based HF and meteor radar measurements of ionospheric irregularities drifts. Numerical modeling of large-scale thermospheric electrodynamics for the low and mid-latitudes for quiet geomagnetic conditions is presented.
