The dramatic refraction events recently noticed in the 2.7-GHz light curves of several compact extragalactic radio sources are discussed, describing physical conditions in the refractors and suggesting an association with aging SNRs. The proposed properties are constrained by a number of extant observations; future studies which should further elucidate conditions in these dense, ionized media (DIM) are proposed.
